Stretch Task Blog #5 - iPhone 4S Sold Out Online

I read the blog article called: iPhone 4S Sold Out Online. It was very interesting. The article talked about how the new iPhone has sold out on the internet. The websites for Apple,Verison, and Sprint have no iPhone 4Ss as of now. The iPhone 4S sold out online within the first twenty four hours of release. Half of the people that have ordered new iPhones have already had and iPhone, and are just upgrading. The other half is people upgraging their older models and buying their first iPhone "It looks like another blockbuster launch for Apple, only this time with three carriers," said Analyst Roger Entner.  "With this iPhone launch, we will have broken through the 50 percent penetration level [for smartphone usage in the U.S.]" Now that the new iPhone has been released, about half of America's cellphone users are using smartphones.

Stretch Task Blog - In Classroom of Future, Stagnant Scores

The Blog that I read to do my stretch task was called "In Classroom of Future, Stagnant Scores". The article talked about a technologically advanced school in America. The school is full of laptops, active boards, and things like that. I was surprised when it said that the test scores of the students hadn't gotten any better.Schools are spending billions of dollars on technology, yet they are laying off teachers or cutting their budgets with little evidence that the technology is actually helping kids learn. Using laptops in schools doesn't help kids with math, or science very much, but it does help them learn more about the world. I think that technology teachers should think about what could actually improve the students grades, rather than wasting money on things that kids don't need.
